About the Team

The L&H Valuation Transformation (LHVT) project will resolve key operational issues in the IFRS reporting process. We will implement new infrastructure that enables problems to be resolved much earlier in the process, improving efficiency, reducing errors and freeing up time to focus on value-adding analysis.

With high energy and a focus on the quality of our developments, we will deliver improvements continually to the reporting teams, improving their work/life balance and reducing operational risk in the reporting process.

We have an open management style that strongly emphasizes collaboration across the functions and with regional teams.

About the Role

This is a one-year intern role based in London.

We are looking for a hardworking and motivated individual to join as an Actuarial Intern. In this role, you will help shape the future of financial reporting in L&H Reinsurance at Swiss Re. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a successful team across a varied reinsurance business.

You will be working as an Actuarial Intern in the LHVT Project team alongside qualified actuaries and other actuarial students.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support on testing outputs using specific calculation tools for specific functionality items, contributing to process documentation.
  • Working with actuarial colleagues to find opportunities for improvements, alignment of processes across the business, as we develop pragmatic solutions to business problems.
  • Working with other business functions - including Finance, other project teams, IT and others – recognizing much of the work requires collaboration.

About You

  • Keen to learn about Insurance valuation and business processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Willingness to think about problems in new ways.
  • Can work independently as well as in close collaboration with others.
  • Good communication skills and desire to work with actuaries as well as business leaders.
