Our Financial Actuaries are on the frontlines, quantifying risk, pricing insurance, and reserving losses for AIG’s major regulated and rated insurance operating companies globally.
Portfolio Analytics and Pricing Actuaries support AIG’s businesses and are responsible for technical pricing, product development analytics, and performance measurement. They collaborate with Marketing, Operations, and Financial Management.
Actuarial Analyst Sr, AIGRM
New York
We are seeking an actuarial professional to provide actuarial support for AIG’s industry-leading Risk Management business. This unique role will provide a range of experience in pricing techniques and will offer the opportunity to work with various casualty products covering Auto, General Liability, and Workers Compensation.
We are looking for an individual who is internally motivated, intellectually curious, has the ability to manage multiple priorities, and is driven to enhance existing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform annual profitability study reviews for Commercial Casualty lines such as Auto Liability, General Liability, and Workers’ Compensation.
- Assist in the development of pricing and underwriting strategies. Provide business solutions to maximize risk-adjusted profit.
- Collaborate with claims department and underwriting team to reflect underlying trends in the review.
- Assist in analyzing the profitability of business segments, support the annual planning process, and determine the current year booking loss ratios by segment.
- Communicate key drivers of profitability changes to senior actuarial management.
- Identify pockets of profitable growth opportunities in the portfolio.
- Support development and design of analytical tools and techniques to help business effectively manage existing portfolios.
- Monitor rate, exposure, retention, new, and lost business changes. Monitor loss trends, actual versus expected and relevant industry/regulatory changes and effectively communicate to the management.
Qualifications:
- ACAS, or near ACAS required.
- 5+ years of experience in Commercial Casualty lines pricing and/or reserving.
- Working knowledge of relevant programming skills (SQL, Python, VBA, SAS, etc.) required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Work well both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong business and collaboration skills and responsive to service needs and operational demands.
- Effective time management skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven project management skills – ability to manage and coordinate large and complex projects across the organization.
- Strong work ethic.
- Customer focus.
The base salary range for this position is $125,600-$157,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
