DescriptionThe RoleConsultants in this role will work as a member of several project teams supporting clients on a wide variety of engagements covering topics such as financial modeling, financial reporting, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues, litigation, pricing, and product development.Our clients demand leading edge products and expertise, and as a consultant with our firm, you can expect to gain tremendous exposure to all facets of insurance operations. This position comes with significant upwards potential for a successful and motivated candidate.As an Actuarial Consultant you will work as part of a team on a wide variety of complex projects. You will:<ul><li>deliver superior project work that meets or exceeds client expectations</li><li>monitor and manage progress of components of projects against established objectives, budget, and timeline</li><li>work as part of a multidisciplinary consulting or joint client-consultant team to analyze issues and develop value-added solutions, specifically across life, P&C, and business consulting projects</li><li>interface with colleagues from other practices and regions on assignments that reflect the client’s broader business issues</li><li>deliver high-quality work in compliance with Professional Excellence standards and proactively look for process improvement</li><li>develop a strong understanding of the Life and Non-Life Insurance industry in the Czech Republic</li><li>manage your time effectively between multiple assignments</li><li>contribute to sales and marketing efforts by drafting proposals and responding to Requests for Proposal (RFPs)</li></ul>QualificationsThe Requirements<ul><li>At least 5-7 years of relevant experience in a consulting firm, financial services organization, or insurance firm</li><li>Understanding of local regulations in the Czech Republic</li><li>Expertise in actuarial software (Risk Agility, Moses, Prophet is a plus)</li><li>A track record of performing life or non-life insurance work, as well as interest/ability to contribute to cross-practice client engagements</li><li>Strong interpersonal and team skills</li><li>Self-starter attitude and ability to work within ambiguity</li><li>Flexibility and proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues</li><li>Strong analytical and creative skills</li><li>Enjoy training/mentoring junior staff</li><li>Working knowledge of Excel, MS Project, MS Word</li><li>Availability to travel on an as-needed basis</li><li>Qualified actuaries or candidates who have demonstrated good progress with the actuarial examinations</li><li>Master's or higher academic qualification in the area of actuarial science, financial risk, mathematics, statistics, or another related discipline</li><li>Fluency in English, written and spoken</li><li>Well-developed verbal communication skills in Czech, Slovak, or another Central Eastern European language (e.g., Slovenian, Croatian, Polish, Hungarian, Romanian, Bulgarian)</li></ul>WTW is an equal opportunity employer.

We are searching for a senior Actuary for our actuarial hub based in Prague (Czech Republic). You would work for our clients based in MENA (Middle East North Africa) and a very large insurer. The position is suitable if you started your career as a non-life actuary and you want to use more advanced actuarial mathematics in an international environment.Why you should be interested?In short way we can offer 2 activities that are not so common for actuaries - stochastic modelling and very diverse work in addition to working for a large client.<ul><li>Diverse work - We are helping insurers in their risk transfer of their business lines and doing things that often insurers are not able to do by themselves. We work for many different clients in the Middle East, where every client has different portfolio, different problems and therefore our work is very diverse and there are many opportunities to learn and further develop.</li><li>Stochastic modelling - We are advising insurers on their risks and we need to see what is happening on extreme events and be able to use risk measures like Value at Risk. Aon developed one of the most used Stochastic modelling tool for Non-Life called Remetrica and all actuaries have access to it.</li><li>Work on a large client &ndash; You will work on the project for natural catastrophe exposure Program of a very large insurer and participate to high level meetings.</li></ul>The nature of the work is project-oriented, advanced on an actuarial point of view and targeted at creative problem solving.
