We provide life reinsurance solutions to clients in the UK, Europe, the US, and Canada.Job DescriptionThe role of Senior Reporting Actuary supports the L&G Re performance strategy, focusing on actuarial reporting projects. This includes monthly reporting of annuity and longevity reinsurance business for L&G Re and reporting the L&G Re entity profits and solvency in a timely and accurate manner.This role requires an actuary with reporting experience and the ability to review and challenge the reporting results, methodology, and controls. It also provides actuarial project support for onboarding new business, group-led projects, internal model change projects, investment projects, and other balance sheet management projects.What you'll be doing:<ul><li>Work collaboratively across multiple teams to perform and review actuarial numbers for the company.</li><li>Actuarial bases will include IFRS, Solvency II, EBS, and Liquidity, requiring review and validation of actuarial calculations and supporting new methodologies in response to regulatory changes.</li><li>Collaborate with Group Divisions to maintain and enhance our reporting capabilities, supporting L&G Re's international growth.</li><li>Provide actuarial project support for new business onboarding, group-led projects, and balance sheet management initiatives.</li><li>Prepare insightful reports and analyses for senior management, contributing to strategic decision-making.</li><li>Understand the impact of business strategies that may include longevity, protection/mortality, and non-life reinsurance business for external business and internal retrocession.</li><li>Deliver effective written and verbal communication, including report writing and presenting to all relevant parties to support effective decision-making and manage the smooth and integrated delivery of business objectives.</li></ul>QualificationsWho we're looking for:<ul><li>A fully qualified Actuary.</li><li>A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in the life insurance sector.</li><li>Significant experience and understanding of individual and bulk purchase annuity business and longevity swaps are required, with experience in the UK and/or Canadian market strongly preferred.</li><li>Deep technical understanding of IFRS, Solvency II, and preferably the Bermuda EBS framework.</li><li>Demonstrated understanding of compliance standards for actuarial reporting, with the proven ability to identify key issues and design and implement efficient, robust, and effective actuarial processes and controls.</li><li>Ability to take a balanced view on a range of actuarial and commercial matters.</li><li>Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.</li><li>A track record of excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement.</li></ul>Additional InformationAt L&G, we believe it's possible to generate positive returns today while helping to build a better future for all.
