The program equips interns with an understanding of working in an environment dedicated to exceeding client expectations and delivering products and services distinct to unique client needs.What the day will look like<ul><li>Involvement in actuarial valuations for funding purposes for pension plans;</li><li>Involvement in actuarial valuations for accounting purposes;</li><li>Involvement in the preparation of actuarial costings and projections;</li><li>Provide routine technical and analytical support to ensure the continuous efficient operation of our clients' pension plan arrangements;</li><li>Read and interpret pension plan texts;</li><li>Year-end update of plan records, including the reconciliation of the membership, contributions and trust fund;</li><li>Completing government filings with pension regulators;</li><li>Calculate benefit entitlements and prepare option packages on retirement, termination, death and marriage breakdown;</li><li>Participating in internal seminars regarding current industry issues and technical training; and</li><li>Working with a variety of Excel-based actuarial tools.</li></ul>Skills and experience that will lead to success<ul><li>Good oral and written communication skills and ability to work in a team environment;</li><li>Thorough and good organizational skills;</li><li>Good knowledge of Excel and Word; and</li><li>Previous work experience or actuarial co-op experience in a consulting/insurance environment is an asset.</li></ul>Education:<ul><li>Students should be enrolled in Actuarial Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics or Business Administration; and</li><li>Applicants should preferably be in 2nd work term or above.</li></ul>

Your workload will look a little bit different each day as you work on a variety of projects to help clients located both within Saskatchewan and across Canada. You will use stand-alone and Excel-based actuarial tools, as well as prepare written communication in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Your typical tasks will include:<ul><li>provision of technical and analytical support to ensure the continuous and efficient operation of our clients&rsquo; pension plan arrangements, including: calculating benefit entitlements, preparing member benefit packages, and assisting consultants in helping our clients with day-to-day pension issues and questions;</li><li>preparation of all aspects of pension plan year-ends, including: updating of plan records, reconciliations of membership, and reconciliations of assets; and</li><li>preparation of all aspects of pension plan actuarial valuations, including: reading and interpreting plan texts, data reconciliation, benefit and contribution requirement calculations, asset summaries, costings and projections, and completion of documents for filing with pension regulators.</li></ul>In addition, you will be given opportunities for learning by participating in internal training, seminars, and working closely with senior colleagues in the office.How this opportunity is differentYour role will expose you to some of the most creative and promising consulting professionals in Canada, while you learn and grow in your career.Our focus is on making valuable contributions to our clients and their retirement programs through development and application of innovative world‐class solutions, backed by our experience and the resources of Aon nationally and globally.
