Actuarial Associate - Salary is £35,000 - £45,000This is a great opportunity for someone who loves investigating problems in detail. If you have strong mathematical skills and good knowledge of life &amp; pensions products, then this role could suit you. We’re looking for a great team player who can work as part of a small team.Please note this is a 12 month contractA bit about the job:The role is based in the Actuarial Services team within Customer &amp; Product Existing Platforms. You will work as part of a small team dealing with a wide range of actuarial work related to our legacy life and pensions products.Typical tasks include:<ul><li>Processing buy out quotes for small defined benefit pension schemes</li><li>Processing requests from pension trustees for net fund returns</li><li>Maintaining spreadsheet programs with current rates and assumptions</li><li>Creating and amending pension and drawdown illustrations</li><li>Responding to mailbox queries from admin teams and other areas of the business</li><li>Performing technical reviews on life &amp; pension products</li></ul>To be effective, you will need a broad knowledge of life and pensions products. You will be responsible for providing audit trails for your work and deliver work that has strong governance and controls.You will communicate with other areas of the business, including third party suppliers, to ensure delivery timescales are met.Skills and experience we’re looking for:<ul><li>A wide range of product knowledge and experience</li><li>Strong analytical skills and good MS Excel skills</li><li>Ability to manage and prioritise workload with business objectives</li><li>Strong communication skills, both verbal and written</li><li>Ability to work as part of a team</li></ul>What you’ll get for this role:<ul><li>Salary is £35,000 - £45,000 (depending on skills, experience and qualifications)</li><li>Bonus opportunity 8% of annual salary. Do you enjoy problem solving and developing calculation models to deliver great outcomes for customers? If so, we may have a role for you, we have an opportunity for actuarial analyst to join our team on a 6-month fixed term contract.We’re looking for someone who is passionate about doing the right thing for the customer and who enjoys performing calculations using Excel. The role will be suitable for someone with a proactive attitude, who can effectively take ownership of tasks and who works well as part of a team.A bit about the job:The post-holder will work alongside members of the heritage customer solutions actuarial team working on risk events, performing calculations to enable customers to receive redress. You will be responsible for creating solutions that accurately calculate the financial impact of the risk event on customers.The delivery of the risk events should be in line with company targets and risk appetite.
