Actuaries never stop learning. There are loads of industry webinars and conferences out there, but I prefer reading blogs and listening to podcasts - they're a more convenient way to keep up to date with the latest industry news, practices and tech.
Here's a list of blogs and podcasts that I enjoy as an actuary.
π¦πΊ The We Are Actuaries Podcast
Julia Lessing, an actuary based in Australia, interviews actuaries from different backgrounds who use their actuarial powers in unique ways.
πΊπΈ The Not Unreasonable Podcast
David Wright, a former actuary, discusses management, analytics, sales and economics from an insurance/reinsurance perspective.
π¬π§ The Odds & Ends Blog
Zhixin Lim (a UK actuary) writes about tech and business trends in a really clear way, without hype or hyperbole.
π¬π§ Bradley Shaw on Medium
Bradley is a UK pricing actuary who writes about the intersection of actuarial science and data science. He gives plenty of practical examples in Python.
π¬π§ John Lee on Substack
John is an actuarial tutor, author and satirist. This isn't strictly a blog, but it's the best site out there for actuarial jokes and memes.
Notable mentions
These blogs haven't been updated for a while, but they still have some good articles that are worth reading:
