<div><p><b>Your role</b></p><p>We have a great opportunity for a Qualified Actuary to join us as a Longevity Risk Actuary. </p><p>In this role you will be responsible for the production and communication of pricing, reporting and capital assumptions for longevity for L&amp;Gs UK and international retirement businesses (with a primary focus on annuities)</p><p>This is a Hybrid role based from our London Offices in Coleman Street (Moorgate).</p></div><div><p><b>What you’ll be doing</b></p><ul><li>Developing, maintaining and refining the mortality models used within the team.</li><li>Developing longevity assumptions, analytics and solutions for the purposes of pricing, reporting and capital requirements for both L&amp;Gs UK and international territories.</li><li>Analysing and modelling longevity risk (primarily annuitant base mortality, mortality trend, and spouse demography) to ensure appropriate controls and processes are in place.</li><li>Developing solutions that are responsive to new information as well as providing long term stability, enabling L&amp;G Retirement to meet its financial reporting strategy and manage earnings volatility.</li><li>Providing mortality support and development for new initiatives across pricing, reporting and capital as and when required by the business by helping stakeholders define the problem and develop scope of analytical projects, providing useful insight to drive decisions.</li><li>Developing appropriate models and tools for the analysis of longevity risk trends and uncertainty. The business solutions developed will use appropriate statistical methodologies to enhance LRT modelling capabilities.</li><li>Staying abreast with, and where appropriate contribute to, external longevity risk developments, ensuring that Legal &amp; General’s longevity assumptions remain appropriate. This includes (but is not limited to) the work of CMI sub-committees.</li><li>Taking responsibility for the accuracy and completeness of analyses conducted for assigned mortality related projects, and associated reports. This could include, but is not limited to: mortality management information, development of mortality assumptions for UK and international business and/or ensuring appropriate actuarial controls are in place.</li><li>Supporting the wider longevity team by providing technical advice and guidance to colleagues. Ensuring cohesive working across the different work strands within the team and sharing of knowledge.</li><li>Line managing some junior staff members within the team and demonstrating effective leadership behaviours.</li></ul></div><div><p><b>What we’re looking for</b></p><ul><li>A Qualified Actuary - ideally with broad Life or Pensions experience across pricing, reporting and capital.</li><li>Practical experience of model development and the application of statistical methodologies. And ideally also an understanding of data mining and predictive modelling in relation to mortality analyses.</li><li>An understanding of key actuarial concepts relating to mortality, annuities, life table concepts and the methodology employed in mortality experience investigations. </li><li>Analysis and reporting experience using internal and external mortality data sets and understanding the impact on mortality and mortality measures (life expectancy, annuity values, capital and reserving impact)</li><li>Longevity experience with specific knowledge of base and trend mortality and common practices. </li><li>Advanced Excel skills are essential (knowledge of SAS, R or other coding languages would be highly advantageous)  </li><li>Excellent written, oral and presentation skills, with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders and influence them accordingly.</li><li>Ability to plan projects for yourself or the team, including setting out purpose, objectives, milestones, deliverables etc. And tracking progress, provide issue resolution and ensuring delivery of requirements to the expected quality and budget.</li><li>Ability to apply actuarial techniques, principles and methods to solving both routine and unstructured problems. <div><p><b>Your role</b></p><p>We are looking for a qualified/nearly qualified actuary to join our Pension Risk Transfer Division as an Actuarial Manager.</p><p>In this role you will be an active and productive member of the Pension Risk Transfer Pricing &amp; Execution Team, leading on the production of quotations and supporting documentation for pension scheme de-risking activities.</p><p>You will also develop and implement innovative pension scheme de-risking solutions and have the opportunity to get involved in other project work as well as performing the BAU tasks.</p><p>This role would be ideal for someone with a good technical understanding of Defined Benefit (DB) Pensions and/or Pricing Methodologies (if you also have project management experience that would be highly advantageous).</p></div><div><p><b>What you’ll be doing</b></p><ul><li>Providing bulk annuity and longevity quotes to pension schemes in a timely, efficient and proactive manner. </li><li>Providing peer review and sign off of quotations produced by the Pricing &amp; Execution Team &amp; producing the first draft response to “requests for quotations” ensuring they are always tailored to the particular client.</li><li>Keeping a consistent focus on working towards delivery against ambitious value and volume based new business targets.</li><li>Working with Pensions Consultants to truly understand the target scheme, including any particular requirements in terms of insurer responses or insurer selection. Then working creatively throughout the quotation process to provide innovative solutions to both clients and the market that meet the customers’ needs.</li><li>Showing the ability to propose non-standard assumptions to match the dynamics of a particular scheme and being considered an expert in the capital and pricing models in order to optimise pricing for DB schemes.</li><li>Producing complete, succinct and transparent governance documentation to support quotations. Ensuring all quotes are produced with the highest level of accuracy and in line with Legal &amp; General’s pricing model.</li><li>Ensuring that the highest level of support is provided by team members to Directors, Consultants and Trustees at all times. Including providing support to Directors with their portfolio of relationships with consultants.</li><li>Ensuring that the Pricing &amp; Execution Team works in line with all relevant internal processes/procedures and that quality and governance remains of paramount importance throughout the quotes process. <div><p><b>About the role</b></p><p>We are looking for a part qualified/qualified Actuary to join our Pricing &amp; Valuation team as a Senior Pricing &amp; Valuation Analyst.</p><p>Within this role you will be responsible for the production of valuations for securitised assets; asset stressing; proxy modelling assets/liabilities for capital calculations, deriving investment portfolio metrics and producing the Standard Formula capital requirement. </p><p>You will also gain exposure to a variety of stakeholders both across the Group and externally within this role.</p></div><div><p><b>What you’ll be doing</b></p><ul><li>Supporting the Risk Analytics LTM Lead Technical Change Actuary to create requirements, design and test a new Lifetime Mortgage (LTM) valuation platform to be used by the team in all valuation and stress testing exercises.</li><li>Providing and reviewing monthly lifetime mortgage and securitised asset valuations, asset MI and ALM reports within agreed timescales to support the accurate provision of fund accounting and valuation.</li><li>Working in a team environment to serve as/support the technical subject matter expert for change projects so that team resources are utilised in the most efficient manner and gain a breadth of experience.</li><li>Documenting process flows, including data sources, to exhibit the team’s capabilities through an end-to-end process description.</li><li>Ensuring that appropriate governance and risk mitigation is in place by evaluating and implementing strong data quality controls, including the development and documentation of these procedures to allow reliable and repeatable data collection/usage.</li><li>Supporting adherence to governance standards to maintain and support data integrity and ensure that initiatives are adhered to including; storage of artefacts, traceability, version control and change control.</li><li>Testing new releases of asset models to make sure any changes made and/or any new technical or non-technical developments are fit for purpose.</li></ul></div><div><p><b>What we’re looking for </b></p><ul><li>Strong data sourcing, asset pricing and valuation knowledge with an understanding of how market and asset data will affect valuations.</li><li>General knowledge of a wide range of asset classes covering Credit Fixed Income, Rates and Interest Rate Fixed Income, ABS, Equities and Property.</li><li>Experience and understanding of economic capital calculation in a Solvency II context.</li><li>Strong mathematical/quantitative skills with the proven ability to address and use initiative to deliver solutions to technical and business problems.</li><li>Ability to collaborate with other teams across the Group (e.g. software development team, data management team).</li><li>Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of VBA and/or other actuarial/financial modelling systems, with the ability to troubleshoot models.</li><li>Experience within a life-insurance environment with annuities background or related industry would be beneficial.</li><li>Degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Maths, Economics, Computer Science or a related discipline would be an advantage.</li></ul></div><div><p><b>Benefits</b></p><p>When you commit to Legal &amp; General, we’ll commit to you too.
