The company takes a long-term view on growth and is proud to be backed by a consortium of sophisticated institutional investors.The Assistant Vice President, Life Pricing, is an experienced technical contributor who plays a key role in pricing, structuring, and analyzing potential life and annuity reinsurance transactions. This role will be aligned to our Nashville, TN office on a hybrid basis.What You Will Do:Pricing Analysis<ul><li>Data Analysis: Collect and analyze investment, liability and other data to support pricing decisions.</li><li>Pricing Models: Run the pricing models to produce baseline pricing results and sensitivities specific to each transaction.</li></ul>Collaboration and Communication<ul><li>Cross-functional Collaboration: Incorporate data from investments, strategic finance, tax, and other teams to ensure the pricing analysis aligns with Fortitude's overall business goals.</li><li>Stakeholder Communication: Assist in preparing the results of the pricing analyses.</li></ul>Standards and Documentation<ul><li>Pricing Standards: Ensure pricing analyses comply with pricing standards.</li><li>Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of pricing models, methodologies, and assumptions.</li></ul>Professional Development<ul><li>Continued Education: Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities, such as actuarial exams, to stay current with industry trends and advancements.</li><li>Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members within the department.</li></ul>Continuous Improvement and Innovation<ul><li>Model Improvement: Assist in the implementing and reviewing model changes to improve the pricing models.</li><li>Innovative Solutions: Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance pricing models and methodologies.</li></ul>What You Will Have:<ul><li>Qualified Fellow of the Society of Actuaries or Institute of Actuaries or career ASA with 7+ years of experience post ASA.</li><li>Strong modeling and technical skills (Excel modeling skills required, AXIS/SQL/Python/Julia a plus).</li><li>Previous experience in pricing, corporate FP&amp;A, Capital Management, Valuation, Financial Reporting, Reinsurance, and/or ALM.</li><li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable, and a team player.</li><li>Organized, reliable, detail-oriented, and motivated to support delivering timely results and quality work products.</li><li>Ability to prototype models for validation and ground-up development, learning real-time, anticipating problems or challenges, and proactively addressing them.</li><li>A strong conceptual understanding and hands-on experience with different financial reporting bases (e.g. US/Canadian/Bermuda/International regimes).</li><li>Drive to solve problems in a disciplined and pragmatic way.</li></ul>What We Offer:We offer our employees competitive benefits in a fast-paced, dynamic and nimble culture including:<ul><li>Unlimited PTO policy</li><li>Up to 12 paid company holidays</li><li>Up to 16 hours per year of paid volunteer time</li><li>Competitive 401(k) plan - US Employees Only</li><li>Paid parental leave</li><li>Learning and Development Stipend</li><li>Mental Health and Wellbeing support</li><li>Health, vision, dental, and life insurance with additional access to health and wellness programs</li><li>Flexible working environment</li><li>Actuarial Exam Support through our Actuarial Development Program (ADP) for Actuarial employees</li><li>Actuarial Program Rotation for ADP employees</li><li>For all Actuarial Life AVP and above roles not based out of our Nashville, TN office: 30% travel is required to our Nashville, TN office</li></ul>At Fortitude Re, we believe that diversity and inclusion are critical to our future and our mission—creating a foundation for a creative workplace that leads to innovation, growth, and profitability.
