Actuarial Apprentice (Pricing)
- Based in Paris, this position will be part of a Global Portfolio Pricing and Modeling Team for the 5th largest reinsurer in the world
- Reporting to the Portfolio Pricing and Modeling Manager for EMEA and our SCOR Syndicate, the role-holder will have the opportunity to represent the team in global projects at the forefront of technical innovation in portfolio pricing and management reporting
- Strong commercial role supporting the production of pricing analytics, contract pricing, portfolio analysis, and process improvement leveraging the latest technology, tools and methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Participate in big data projects across the Team; model evaluation, sensitivity testing and calibration studies
- Work closely with underwriters, underwriting management and other members of the actuarial pricing team to develop and future KPI to measure the business success in a highly streamlined manner
- Evaluate partner premium, exposure and loss data and provide technical pricing indications
- Independently structure and complete complex analyses on behalf of the group
- Willingness to travel and represent SCOR in a professional way with internal stakeholders
Qualifications
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal verbal and written skills that enable the candidate to communicate effectively with colleagues (especially underwriters), brokers and clients.
- Integrity: the ability to make a principled stand where required.
- Independent: a thinker with an analytical mindset.
- Flexibility: the ability to manage workload and prioritise different tasks.
- Personality: a self-motivator who is keen to learn and take on increasing responsibility over time.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others in the Actuarial Team.
- Studying towards a degree in a quantitative discipline with pursuit of an Actuarial qualification a plus
- Strong knowledge of Excel and the ability to manipulate and format data sets
- SQL, GIS, VBA, R skills advantageous
