VP Actuarial (Financial Reporting)

POSITION OVERVIEW
This position, located in the Boston, MA office, will support the valuation and financial reporting of two of Global Atlantic’s fast-growing lines of business: Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) and Flow Reinsurance. The candidate will report to the Head of Valuation and lead a small team supporting both the reporting and analysis/review of the business.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- Calculating US Statutory, Tax, US GAAP reserves, and other related actuarial balances
- Providing analysis to support drivers of impacts to earnings
- Supporting the onboarding of new reinsurance deals
- Conducting annual impact testing for potential assumption changes
- Working with the Modeling team related to any necessary modeling updates
- Working with IT and data team on valuation system transformation
- Maintaining and improving various controls, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
- Supporting audit and regulatory requests
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of actuarial experience in the life insurance and retirement industry
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) required
- Knowledge of annuity/life insurance products and/or PRT
- Experience with financial reporting under US Statutory and US GAAP
- Experience with actuarial software, especially MG-ALFA
- Strong communication, technical, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage staff
- Takes personal accountability for the execution of goals and objectives
- Able to participate in the generation of new and unique ideas
- Has a positive attitude necessary to be part of a strong performing team
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
The base salary range for this role is $130,500—$248,500 USD.
