Actuarial Team Manager

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with an actuarial background, a recently qualified or nearly qualified actuary to become an integral part of the Manuals Production Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a key person in the manuals production process, gaining exposure to a broad range of product types and reporting measures.

A bit about the job:

A core part of the role will be to take ownership of the production of manuals on both Solvency II and IFRS. The role will require both management of people and operation of processes ensuring that the relevant control requirements are met. The wider team is responsible for various other Reporting tasks so engagement with a wide range of stakeholders is needed.

You will also communicate with the team, both onshore and offshore to ensure correct processes\calculations are being followed and monitor progress to ensure successful delivery.

To be effective you will need to learn fast and become familiar with many products and calculation methods. You will be responsible for providing audit trails for your team's work and deliver work that has strong governance and control and you will also have the opportunity to delve deeper and contribute to the development of the manuals process.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Degree level or equivalent
  • Strong recent reporting experience or a qualified or nearly qualified actuary with good knowledge of how the various reporting and capital metrics work
  • Strong analytical skills and good MS Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise and take responsibility for ensuring that deliverables are met. Ability to manage and prioritise workload with business objectives
  • Strong interpersonal skills, in particular the ability to get things done through others. Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across reporting teams and other stakeholders across the business

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Starting salary National £55,000 -£70,000 London £65,000 and £80,000(depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
