What Is the Opportunity?

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our team! The location of this role is flexible with the opportunity to work out of one of the Dublin, London or Redhill offices.

The Senior Actuarial Analyst is an entry level role that encompasses the personal ownership of operational assignments which may include reserving, reinsurance, pricing, regulatory reporting, planning/forecasting, project management, CAT modelling, ERM and research. The individual in this role is expected to be a team player and have a desire to learn and develop.

Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion.

This role is eligible for a £3000 new joiner bonus. If you are successfully referred by an employee at Travelers Europe, both you and the person who referred you could be eligible for this bonus.

What Will You Do?


  • Participate in strategic projects with execution responsibility for assigned project components.
  • Propose change and innovation in order to improve project team performance and timelines.
  • Execute work thoughtfully and efficiently as a team member.
  • This position may participate on cross-unit initiatives.


  • Refresh actuarial and analytic analyses to solve business problems and apply judgment appropriately.
  • Begin to self-check own work.
  • Support unit initiatives.
  • Create process efficiencies within assignments with guidance.
  • Provide support as necessary for initiatives within Europe or across the Enterprise within the scope of influence.


  • Communicates progress, findings, and results to manager/colleagues.
  • Actively participates in group discussions.
  • Creates formal written communication such as memos or presentations with guidance.
  • Networks and collaborates on ideas and challenges.


  • Mentor less experienced talent within the unit.
  • Onboard new employees and interns in unit.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • University degree in STEM related field.
  • PC skills (MS Office), programming skills (eg. SQL, SAS).
  • Related internship or prior work-related experience preferred.


  • Initial development of Leading Self, exhibiting self-awareness and seeking opportunities to learn.

Business Acumen:

  • Has a developing understanding and knowledge of the basic key business drivers and functions such as: underwriting, products, reinsurance, distribution, sales, operations, risk control, claim, and financials.
  • Able to utilise this business knowledge to assist in the development of analytic solutions.

Relationship Management:

  • Begin to develop working relationships with primary working group.
  • Generate and share ideas with primary working group.

Quantitative Analysis:

  • Begin to access data and tools and perform basic analyses.

What is a Must Have?

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required.

  • Retirement: Travelers will make a core contribution of 7% of pensionable salary to your Pension Plan. If you decide to contribute an additional amount from your salary, you will receive an increased company contribution up to a maximum of 3%. This would bring the total company contribution to 10%.
