You’ll join our Actuarial Insurance practice and apply your skills in projects reaching beyond traditional actuarial boundaries. If you have strong technical skills, experience of working with Solvency II capital, and would like to apply them in an actuarial context, we are the right place for you. You will be involved in the more technical aspects of actuarial work including proxy modelling, risk modelling and stochastic modelling in the context of capital models and Solvency II. Work requires high levels of quantitative skills, an understand of Solvency II capital and an interest in modelling to solve new and challenging problems on behalf of our clients.

Essential

  • You are a natural communicator, able to talk about complex matters with key stakeholders.
  • You are either a qualified actuary or training to be an actuary with a strong academic and actuarial exam track record.
  • You have demonstrable experience in either proxy modelling, risk modelling, matching adjustment work or Solvency II/economic capital reporting.
  • You have a good knowledge of the life insurance industry and Solvency II regulations of internal model firms.
  • You have and enjoy demonstrating the ability to apply your technical knowledge in practical and commercial situations.
  • You have a desire to build your own brand in the capital modelling and Solvency II space and to develop a team to support you in delivering projects in these areas.
  • You are driven and committed to delivering highest quality of work.

Desirable

  • You have experience in the modelling of illiquid assets, in either the base valuation or stressing the asset.
  • You have good modelling skills with practical experience in at least one coding language (e.g. R, Python).

Personal independence

Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints. This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm.
