Senior Actuarial Manager

The opportunity

A unique opportunity has arisen for a well experienced insurance professional to join QBE Insurance in the role of Actuarial Senior Manager. In this role you will play a key part in the delivery of the pricing work of QBE’s Modernisation program, including the repricing of many of QBE’s largest products.

You will provide pricing support through both individual contribution and by leading and managing a new team comprised of some combination of actuaries, analysts, pricing specialists and data specialists, in the fulfilment of the role's obligations in relation to pricing, data management, process improvement and stakeholder engagement.

On a regular basis, this role will involve:

  • Partnering with the business to undertake pricing work as per the Modernisation delivery plan
  • Algorithm design, data analysis, modelling, price setting and deployment
  • Project-based pricing work, including planning and project management, stakeholder management, solution definition, and managing the delivery of the pricing project team(s)
  • Defining and designing QBE’s future pricing approaches

About you

  • You are an experienced actuarial pricing professional, with an extended history of success in multiple general insurance products.
  • A pricing background with high-volume insurance products (e.g. Personal Lines, SME) would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • A relevant qualification and fellowship within the field will support your success and is highly desirable, though not mandatory as your technical ability and engagement skills will be strongly favoured.
  • You have the ability to harness your expertise to lead other actuarial staff whilst engaging effectively with stakeholders across a broad and complex business.
  • You’ll have a strong ability to manage projects and priorities within a busy and demanding environment, operating efficiently to achieve positive outcomes.
