Deputy Actuarial Director (Reporting)

This is a new role, created to support the Actuarial Reporting Director; who has direct management responsibility for the Actuarial Reporting and Risk-Based Capital delivery teams in Group Actuarial (circa 8 qualified Actuaries / Senior Actuarial Analysts / Graduate trainees).

What you'll be doing…

  • Improve the delivery of the actuarial function across Bupa – emphasis on calculation and analysis of technical provisions
  • Deliver the actuarial reporting content for reports to the Executive, Board and Bupa’s regulators
  • Provide actuarial advice and guidance to facilitate the assessment of complex commercial transactions.
  • Support the analysis and associated investigations to measure insurance risk
  • Analyse and interpret capital adequacy regulations to ensure that Bupa complies with all relevant regulatory requirements (e.g. Solvency II)
  • Provide actuarial advice to Group Finance and Market Unit teams

Who we’re looking for?

  • Qualified Actuary with substantial post-qualification experience
  • Significant capital, reserving and actuarial modelling experience
  • In-depth understanding of Solvency II regulations, with focus on Technical Provisions, Economic Capital and/or modelling of insurance risk
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including experience in the preparation of presentations and papers for Executives and Boards
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, validation and importance of data integrity
  • Ability to interpret complex technical actuarial and regulatory requirements
