Senior Data Scientist/Actuary – Insurance Pricing
Location: Leeds, London & Home (office visits c. once per month)
Join our Pricing & Underwriting Chapter as a Senior Data Scientist with Pricing experience.

What you’ll be doing:
In this role, you’ll use statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze and model insurance data. Working closely with actuaries, underwriters, and data scientists to understand the drivers of loss and to develop pricing models that accurately reflect risk and customer behaviours. Additionally you’ll seek out new opportunities to apply data science techniques to insurance and support those around you to grow and develop, sharing your expertise and best practise with your tribe and wider P&U chapter.
Working in an agile way means you’ll take charge early on, soak up new experiences and most importantly you’ll positively influence and shape what we do – making an impact on our customers lives. We’ll utilise your skills where they are most needed whilst also giving you to opportunity to build and grow the breadth of your expertise. You’ll join one of our various tribes (home, motor, pet, travel etc.) and complete your work day to day within one of our squads.
Due to the requirements for this role, previous experience within insurance/pricing is essential.
What we are looking for:
- Previous data science / pricing experience within insurance
- Master's/PhD/professional certificates or experience in a quantitative field
- Either or both:
- Strong experience with statistical and machine learning techniques
- Experience with insurance pricing or actuarial modelling
- Python (candidates with experience in other programming languages will also be considered)
- Experience with AWS Sagemaker (or other cloud platforms) is an advantage
