Senior Marketing & Product Actuary

As a Senior Marketing & Product Actuary, you will be contributing to all aspects of marketing, client management, business development and product development functions within SCOR Hong Kong to ensure that the SCOR Global Life HK team meets its goal to be: A purpose-driven, customer-centric, innovative and highly technical life & health reinsurer to enhance SCOR’s ability to write profitable new business in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a list of clients in Hong Kong, at all levels, enhancing SCOR’s reputation in these markets
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and prospects in Hong Kong, and to present reinsurance solutions including product development ideas and existing SCOR reinsurance offerings
  • Develop client strategy and help execute strategic plans for Hong Kong market
  • Support the product development process, contribute on innovative ideas in product design and bring ideas into practical solutions
  • Monitor industry development and anticipate emerging government scheme regulation changes in Hong Kong market such as healthcare, privacy laws, and identify potential reinsurance opportunities
  • Ensure solutions offered are relevant and commercially attractive to clients whilst satisfying SCOR’s profitability requirements
  • Manage the overall end to end quotation process while working closely with other internal parties
  • Lead the treaty preparation, review, and execution process with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist in the preparation of marketing materials and participate in client visits, industry events and / or other marketing initiatives on a needed basis
  • Foster an effective internal network within the Fast Growth Market, Business Acceptance Team, and global R&D teams to leverage the internal expertise in product development and other SCOR solutions.
  • Any other projects or duties as assigned.

Other pricing related responsibilities

  • Support the team with various internal projects, including but not limited to: market research, development of pricing guideline targeting newly developed product propositions, experience monitoring and reporting
  • Establish connections with external InsurTech and keep abreast of latest development in market
  • Develop internal connection and exchange product development ideas across other SGL markets
  • Provide pricing support around the Hong Kong market on a needed basis
  • Provide support on treaty preparation and review on a needed basis
  • Ensure adherence to other internal controls and best practice standards at all times

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of relevant working experience in fields related to insurance/reinsurance marketing, product development and/or actuarial
  • Must demonstrate Hong Kong specific market knowledge, including previous experience in product and/or distribution roles in the market
  • Experience in pricing/ product development for insurance/reinsurance company is a plus
  • Comfortable in presenting and negotiating commercial terms
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong networking and relationship-building abilities, with an existing network of contacts in the insurance and reinsurance industry.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
