Junior Actuary (Life Valuation)

The Junior Valuation Actuary based in Cologne supports the technical validation and documentation processes relating to IFRS17 and Solvency II Life Liability data for internal and external reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the L&H Consolidated Cashflow Reporting and Business Support Team and the overseas subsidiaries of SCOR in their calculation of IFRS17 and Solvency II Life liabilities data and Own Funds calculations
  • Perform detailed actuarial analyses of SCOR`s life reinsurance business
  • Support consolidation, validation and documentation of actuarial reporting for internal and external reporting standards (Solvency II and IFRS17)
  • Support the development of actuarial solutions/models, reporting demands and processes

Qualifications

  • Favourably basic work experience in (re)insurance with a focus on actuary issues, but not required
  • Very good IT skills of standard software (MS Office)
  • Favourably basic experience with database software (Python, R)

  • Very good analytical and conceptual skills
  • Very good communication skills
  • Personal competencies according to company values

Required Education

  • University degree/Master degree in Mathematics, Economics with the main focus on actuarial issues
  • Preferably membership in actuarial association/qualified as an actuary
  • or equivalency from a recognized organization
