Actuarial Intern

This one-year internship role is required to support SCOR in the delivery of financial reporting for Australia and New Zealand business. An excellent opportunity for you to collaborate with senior actuaries, acquire knowledge on a variety of methods, systems and tools, and apply actuarial technical skills in a life reinsurance context.

Responsibilities

  • Under the guidance of other team members, the individual can expect to be assigned to tasks and projects that are both challenging and contribute to their personal and professional development.
  • Examples of tasks include:
  • Prepare data for processing by valuation models, including retrieving, profiling, cleansing, reconciling, transforming and validating data sets.
  • Analyse data by writing and running SQL or Python programs.
  • Optimise business processes through review of existing processes, redesign and implementation using automation, standardisation, controls.
  • Other duties, responsibilities and activities as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Required experience & competencies

    - No prior actuarial work experience required. Knowledge of advanced mathematics and statistical concepts.

    Skills and Personal Competences:

    • Attention to detail.
    • Effective verbal and written communication, time management and organization skills.
    • Analytical and mathematical proficiency.
    • Proficient use of Excel spreadsheets.
    • Ability to use Python or SQL preferable.
    • Strong problem solving and analytical thinking ability.
    • Team player.
    • Culturally flexible and sensitive.

    Required Education

    Completed or pursuing Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or related field with a strong quantitative orientation.
