Programme: Actuarial (Pensions) Apprenticeship - 2024
Length of programme: The offer of employment will be on a permanent basis. We anticipate our Apprentices will complete a Level 4 Actuarial Technician Apprenticeship within 2 years. This will be followed with progression to a Level 7 Actuary Apprenticeship which will take approximately 3 years.

Entry Requirements:
To apply for this Apprenticeship you need to be available for full-time employment from 1 September 2024. You will need to have achieved the following academic qualifications:
- GCSE in English and Maths at Grade 4 or C or an equivalent, or higher
- Qualifications equivalent to 64 UCAS points (since 2017), or 180 UCAS points (before 2017) across 3 A Levels or equivalent qualifications.
Working as an Actuarial Apprentice at Isio requires a good level of numerical ability, which will be assessed during our recruitment process.
Actuarial Apprenticeships– the opportunity
Pension schemes are an important part of the UK savings industry, providing a reliable and secure income in retirement. However, they also pose significant financial risks. At Isio, we innovate and develop solutions to overcome these challenges through our Actuarial & Consulting services.
An actuarial career in pensions requires strong numeracy and communication skills, as well as the drive to gain professional qualifications. Our Actuarial Apprenticeship program offers the opportunity to develop technical actuarial knowledge, workplace skills, and gain valuable experience.
What you will be doing
As an Actuarial Apprentice at Isio, you will have the opportunity to apply actuarial skills and concepts to calculate the value of pension and other benefits for employers and trustees. You will also be involved in financial modeling, risk analysis, advising clients on pensions strategy, designing employee communication programs, and helping clients understand and manage accounting, tax, and legislative changes.
During your Apprenticeship, you will develop analytical skills and contribute to various projects, including calculation work, financial modeling, drafting communication materials, identifying business opportunities, and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
Training and Development
We will support you in completing a Level 4 Actuarial Technician Apprenticeship and provide in-house training for technical actuarial skills, knowledge, and key workplace skills. After completing the Level 4 Apprenticeship, we will support you in achieving qualification as an Actuary through a Level 7 Apprenticeship.
Isio's Graduate Programme is just the beginning. It will give you a strong foundation, client experience, professional training, and core consulting skills. As you progress in your career, there will be opportunities to specialize in pensions and explore other areas such as employee benefit design, financial coaching, wealth management, and digital solutions.
