Senior Marketing Actuary
As part of the Southeast Asia team, this role contributes to all aspects of business development and client management work within SCOR to ensure that the team meets its goal to be: A purpose-driven, customer-centric, innovative and highly technical life & health reinsurer to enhance SCOR’s ability to write profitable new business in SEA.
Responsibilities:
- Leading business development/client management functions for the chosen SEA Market (Singapore) in terms of the following activities:
- Managing and maintaining existing client relationships, as well as the acquisition of new clients.
- Delivering Product Development services to our targeted clients.
- Identifying valuable business opportunities and driving SCOR's cross functional teams to deliver an optimal solution for our clients and Scor.
- Negotiating for solutions offered to be relevant and commercially attractive to clients whilst satisfying SCOR’s profitability requirements.
- Leading the treaty preparation, review, and execution process with both internal and external stakeholders
- Delivering quality client experience by ensuring timely and client centric responses.
- Organising and coordinating client events and activities.
Managing our current portfolios from SEA markets in terms of the following activities:
- Managing of these client relationships
- Servicing their requests
- Proactive in-forced management such as repricing and renewals
Supporting the execution of SEA L&H reinsurance strategy and monitoring of business performance.
Contributing on innovative ideas in product design (medex, CI, LTC, etc) and connecting with distribution frameworks in SEA team.
Participating and supporting regional and global initiatives and projects.
Delivering industry presentations to enhance SCOR’s brand.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant life insurance or reinsurance experience within the South East Asia market, of which at least 4 years in reinsurance. Experience preferably includes various functions such as business development, client management, product development, pricing.
- Expert Knowledge of Life and Health Insurance products.
- Expert Knowledge of Reinsurance structures/solutions and its pricing.
- Very good understanding of the need to integrate key stakeholders’ interests in the product design phase and its affordability requirement as well as the need to balance among profitability, risk management and marketability.
- Expert Knowledge of reinsurance treaty wordings and its corresponding link with the quotation slip and the risk management requirements.
Competencies:
- Outgoing, confident with excellent social skills, written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in technical aspects of reinsurance solutions
- Comfortable in presenting and negotiating commercial terms
- Experience in delivering presentations to clients and in industry seminars
- Willingness to travel as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics or related field
- FIA, FFA, FSA, FCIA or FIAA designation preferred.
