Associate Pricing Actuary

We are looking for an entry level actuary to join our Actuarial Portfolio Management team at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. This role will primarily support our business in Latin America.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or junior actuary to develop their career within an international insurance group. You will report to the Vice President and Senior Pricing Actuary for the Latin America region, as part of Swiss Re Group Actuarial Portfolio Management.

The focus of this role will be on supporting the business by conducting actuarial reviews and making recommendations to ensure profitability and growth. Additionally, you will collaborate on various projects with actuaries from other lines of business and regions.

Main tasks / Regular activities

• Quarterly actuarial profitability reviews of one of our main insurance lines of business in Latin America, including communicating results and recommendations to the business.
• Collaborating with the business on portfolio rate reviews and costing model updates.
• Assisting in actuarial technical notes updates for Brazil.
• Working on special projects supporting other lines of business as needed.

About the Team

We provide actuarial support to Corporate Solutions businesses across the Americas and develop global actuarial models and parameters. We work closely with our P&C business leaders, providing guidance on profitability and needed rating plan changes to improve performance. We also partner with actuaries around the world to develop efficient cross-product models and consistent parameters.

About you

• University graduate with an actuarial degree.
• Minimum of intermediate English proficiency required.
• At least one internship in an insurance role preferred but not required.
• Data analytics skills and ability to interpret and explain results.
• Strong work ethic, self-starter, and able to meet defined deliverable dates.
• Willingness to think about actuarial problems in new ways.
• Good communication skills and desire to work with actuaries as well as business leaders.
