Assistant Pricing Actuary

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be a part of the In Force Pricing and Analytics team in Bangalore, and will have a great opportunity to apply his/her technical actuarial, modelling and data analytics skills across a wide variety of activities outlined below. The role offers the opportunity for out of the box thinking, working on solutions to a broad range of challenges.

The resource will work collaboratively with colleagues in our In Force Management team and with subject matter experts throughout Swiss Re, both locally and within EMEA, and indeed globally. Furthermore, the resource will significantly contribute to data analytics projects and support the development and commercialization of new innovative solutions.

The job responsibilities include the following:

  • Perform actuarial analysis of portfolios in run-off to be commuted and determine the price for the scope in question.
  • Participate in pricing projects
  • Work on data analytics projects within and outside of the unit.
  • Collaborate with portfolio managers on commutation deals, as well as in providing actuarial insights on their portfolios
  • Develop new and maintain existing pricing tools either independently or in a project team with other team-members and IT.
  • Develop and maintain new dashboards for management reporting at senior levels.

Required Education and Skills

  • Academic Background in Science (Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science etc.)
  • Data Analytics skills that can be demonstrated through college projects, internship or current roles.
  • Strong IT skills โ€“ Knowledge and experience on R or Python is required,
  • Work experience of about 0-1 years
  • Actively pursuing the actuarial exams.
  • Concise and confident communication skills.
  • Ambitious and driven.
  • Enjoy working in a dynamic work environment with senior stakeholders.
