Actuarial & Risk Specialist

This is a unique opportunity for a talented Finance Professional to play a pivotal role in a leading European Insurtech. Role

We are looking for a data-driven and strategic-thinker Actuarial & Risk Specialist who will report to the Actuarial & Risk Analytics Manager and will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer. Our desired candidate will have a strong background in quantitative risk management and actuarial, ideally with some experience in reserving or reinsurance and a strong interest in working in a high growth, innovative environment. We are looking for a Specialist with an analytical and data driven approach.

Specifically, you will take care of the following activities:

  • Support group and local functions to monitor technical performance;
  • Support the definition of key technical assumptions (average claims, frequency) for planning purposes, and alternative scenarios for stress-test projections;
  • Support loss ratio monitoring and monitor loss ratio at country, product, and channel level;
  • Support the assessment of business decisions based on quantitative analyses and risk implications;
  • Map and quantify technical, financial, and strategic risks which Prima is exposed to;
  • Define and implement risk reporting towards executives and the Board of Directors;

Responsibilities may develop to reflect both level of experience and the evolving strategy of the business.

Requirements

  • 2+ years experience in similar positions, preferably with experience in insurance companies or in top-tier consulting companies;
  • Strong quantitative academic background, ideally with actuarial or risk qualification (such as ONA, CERA or equivalent);
  • Positive mind-set, ownership mentality, and a pragmatic "can do” attitude are key as we rapidly grow;
  • Content-driven, analytical mindset, with the ability to get deep into the details as well as grasp the bigger picture and the business dynamics quickly;
  • Fluency in English;
  • Advanced modeling skills;
  • Knowledge of non-life actuarial techniques;

In addition to the basic requirements, we will carefully evaluate these characteristics:

  • Passion in simplifying processes, with plenty of ideas for introducing simple monitoring dashboards;
  • Coding working knowledge;
  • A genuine interest in learning more about the insurtech world;
