Senior Actuarial Analyst (Pricing & Valuation)
Your role at a glance:
We are looking for a Qualified Actuary to join our Pricing & Valuation team as a Senior Pricing & Valuation Analyst. Within this role you will be responsible for the production of valuations for securitised assets; asset stressing; proxy modelling assets/liabilities for capital calculations, deriving investment portfolio metrics and producing the Standard Formula capital requirement.
You will also gain exposure to a variety of stakeholders both across the Group and externally within this role.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting the Risk Analytics LTM Lead Technical Change Actuary to create requirements, design and test a new Lifetime Mortgage (LTM) valuation platform to be used by the team in all valuation and stress testing exercises.
- Providing and reviewing monthly lifetime mortgage and securitised asset valuations, asset MI and ALM reports within agreed timescales to support the accurate provision of fund accounting and valuation.
- Working in a team environment to serve as/support the technical subject matter expert for change projects so that team resources are utilised in the most efficient manner and gain a breadth of experience.
- Documenting process flows, including data sources, to exhibit the team’s capabilities through an end-to-end process description.
- Ensuring that appropriate governance and risk mitigation is in place by evaluating and implementing strong data quality controls, including the development and documentation of these procedures to allow reliable and repeatable data collection/usage.
- Supporting adherence to governance standards to maintain and support data integrity and ensure that initiatives are adhered to including; storage of artefacts, traceability, version control and change control.
- Testing new releases of asset models to make sure any changes made and/or any new technical or non-technical developments are fit for purpose.
What we're looking for:
- Strong data sourcing, asset pricing and valuation knowledge with an understanding of how market and asset data will affect valuations.
- General knowledge of a wide range of asset classes covering Credit Fixed Income, Rates and Interest Rate Fixed Income, ABS, Equities and Property.
- Experience and understanding of economic capital calculation in a Solvency II context.
- Strong mathematical/quantitative skills with the proven ability to address and use initiative to deliver solutions to technical and business problems.
- Ability to collaborate with other teams across the Group (e.g. software development team, data management team).
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of VBA and/or other actuarial/financial modelling systems, with the ability to troubleshoot models.
- Experience within a life-insurance environment with annuities background or related industry would be beneficial.
- Degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Maths, Economics, Computer Science or a related discipline would be an advantage.
