Actuarial Apprentice
The main role is to assist the team through:
- during the contract renewal periods: analysis of submission data, capture of data to be used for case pricing / cat modelling and participation in the case pricing / cat modelling of usual standard accounts.
- outside of the contract renewal periods: involvement in various projects such as update of benchmark studies, indexes, market models, pricing parameters or development of pricing / modelling methods.
The jobholder will have strong technical interest, an analytical mindset and good communication skills
Responsibilities
- Review and capture of submission data, technical pricing / modelling of reinsurance accounts and review of pricing / modelling results, providing insightful analysis to other actuaries and underwriters through clear communication.
- Work closely with actuaries, modellers and underwriters to develop and maintain appropriate pricing benchmarks, methods, tools and parameters.
- Assist in the review of (re)insurance and economic assumptions used for Pricing and Modelling

- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others in the Pricing & Modelling Team.
- Personality: a self-motivator who is keen to learn and take on increasing responsibility over time.

- Integrity: the ability to make a principled stand where required.
Required qualifications
- Studying towards an Actuarial qualification, an Engineer qualification or an Applied Mathematics / Statistics Bachelor / Master qualification
- Excel + VBA
- Good English verbal and written
Nice to have:
- Some knowledge of (Re)Insurance
- Access/SQL, Python, R, Git, Tableau
