Valuation Actuary (P&C)
Let's connect: Join our Reinsurance Accounting & Valuation team at the Hannover location commencing immediately on a permanent, full-time basis as a Valuation Actuary for Business Group Property & Casualty.
You calculate reserves for the internal and external reporting, which are additionally needed for performance measurement and capital allocation, and reconcile these with the stakeholders.
- Compiling and processing actuarial reserve analyses for Hannover Re's P&C business
- Drawing up quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with HGB and IFRS 17 as well as valuation according to Solvency II
- Economic valuation of the worldwide P&C (re)insurance business as a basis for corporate management and performance measurement
- Reserving of regional, customer-specific and line-of-business-specific subsegments both at Group head office and at our international locations for all relevant financial statements (HGB, IFRS 17, Solvency II)
- Communication with internal and external customers such as independent auditors, analysts and colleagues from Hannover Re's international network
- Participation in interdepartmental projects as well as interdisciplinary exchange with colleagues from IT, Underwriting and Accounting
- Further development of methods and systems for reserve determination and analysis
You come equipped with:
- Degree in (business) mathematics, physics, computer science or economic/scientific studies with a mathematical focus
- Business-fluent user skills in German and English (at least level B2)
- Structured way of thinking, recognition of complex correlations and solution-oriented approach to problems
- Strong powers of communication as well as conceptual and analytical abilities
- Willingness to go on occasional business trips and enjoy working in a team and in an international network
