Actuarial Analyst (Reinsurance)
As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting Reinsurance Solutions, in Toronto, Ontario. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will report directly to a Vice President on the team.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work in a project-oriented, client-focused environment in which problem-solving skills are critical
- Become familiar with a wide range of insurance and reinsurance products and related terminology
- Become proficient with Aon's tools and approach, contribute to their development, and present Aon's solutions and services to our clients and prospects
- Perform reinsurance pricing analyses based on experience and exposure
- Explain analysis results to actuaries and non-actuaries
- Develop an understanding of the cost and benefit of reinsurance to client income statements
- Become proficient in the use of Aon's proprietary risk modeling software for standard reinsurance products
- Identify and access relevant industry data sources
Required Experience:
- Highly self-motivated, creative individual who is most comfortable in a team-oriented framework
- Someone who is hands-on and leads by example
- Strong computer and analytical skills are important, but equally, we are looking for someone with enthusiasm and a strong desire to learn and to contribute
- Accuracy, thoroughness, and strong attention to detail
- Effectively communicate complex ideas to potentially non-technical audience
- Strong experience with Microsoft Excel (VBA), Access (SQL), Word, and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of R and/or Python an asset
- Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Economics, Math or any other analytically oriented equivalent
- 0-3 years of actuarial experience, P&C experience an asset
- Successful completion of at least 2 Casualty Actuarial Society preliminary exams (P, FM, 3F, MAS-I, MAS-II)
