Senior Actuary (Investment Solutions)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Investment Solutions team on a permanent basis. The team design, develop and maintain our market-leading investment solutions to support delivering strong outcomes for customers.
It will be your responsibility to manage and deliver the provision of specialist investment actuarial advice and analysis to Royal London Group as technical expert and through the management of a team of highly specialist actuaries, actuarial trainees and actuarial technicians.
About the role
- Carry out financial analysis using complex actuarial and analytical techniques to support team, department or wider business planning
- Monitor and check the quality of the financial analysis performed by team members to ensure accuracy and provide feedback to the originator
- Challenge and make improvements and efficiencies to data, processes, procedures and documentation to make them more accurate and/or efficient
- Provide specialist advice and interpretation of data and results to internal stakeholders and to third parties and external bodies as appropriate
- Co-ordinate the production of technical reports
- Presents reports to colleagues, senior managers, Boards and committees across the Group and to third parties and external bodies as appropriate
- Line management, organisation and prioritising of the team
About you
- Qualified Actuary (ie FIA or FFA)
- Deep knowledge of actuarial and financial maths commensurate with the nature and complexity of the work
- Ability to communicate in a professional manner with internal stakeholders and to third parties and external bodies
- Highly numerate and excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent understanding of life insurance products including competitors’ products
- Excellent understanding of Company’s current and legacy business
- Keeps up to date with actuarial and industry knowledge and industry best practice and applies breadth of understanding to generate innovative and practical approaches
