Actuarial Expert (Diagnostics)
You will join the Actuarial Function Team which supports on all global lines of business of AGCS. We are a key unit in the broader CFO function and strategic contributor to the long-term success of AGCS. We are an experienced, diverse and hardworking team and we look forward to welcoming you onboard.
Reporting to the Head of Actuarial Function, your main tasks will include actuarial analysis of the AGCS loss model (Normalized LR), models development and refinement, documentations, peer reviews as well as training and development of more junior staff, depending on your seniority. A special focus will be on implementing process improvements in Foundry. Moreover, you will work closely with all actuarial teams as well as Underwriting, Pricing, IT and Accounting. You will ensure that the team leader can focus on strategic matters by processing delegable tasks. You will also participate in projects.
Responsibilities:
- Develop global actuarial approaches and processes as well as enhance actuarial models and analyses.
- Support the team leader with strong P&C actuarial expertise to be applied within the models and processes in the area of responsibility.
- Drive innovation and efficiency in all our processes, particularly to improve annual reserve review quality and control.
- Peer review work from other team members and provide training and guidance to junior colleagues, depending on your seniority.
- Promote close collaboration and interaction with the various business areas (IT, Accounting) to foster mutual understanding how business developments impact actuarial drivers in the financials.
Requirements:
- Excellent tertiary qualification (ideally Master), preferably in Mathematics, Statistics or other appropriate discipline or qualified by experience in related discipline.
- You are an investigative qualified actuary.
- Several years of work experience, preferable spanning multiple actuarial areas as well as multiple types and lines of business.
- Finance and Insurance know-how (ideally P&C) as well as understanding of complexities inherent in an insurance group (consolidation processes, legal vs management view) allowing for cross-departmental thinking and acting.
- Deep understanding of business financials (e.g. P&L, Capital Reports, etc.), cost management and macroeconomic trends and ability to develop the necessary data tools/models to support the business. (e.g. rate development, risk capital, etc.).
- Extensive computer skills (MS Office incl. VBA, SQL, Foundry, Python and relevant expert systems such as ResQ).
- Outstanding analytical thinking and numeracy skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Great communication skills and experience in presenting results to stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in an international working environment and develop remote relationships.
- Fluent English skills, any other languages such as German advantageous.
