Actuarial Risk Manager (6 Month FTC)

Salary: National starting salary - circa £70,000, London starting salary - circa £85,000

This is a 6 month Fixed Term Contract role.

In this role, you will support the execution of risk and control assessment activity within the UK Finance function, looking at all aspects of the control environment in Finance, not limited to those associated with financial reporting. Specific focus will be on actuarial processes, with targeted activity on Model Risk, End User Computing testing and review of Solvency II basis risks. The role also incorporates performance of quality assurance activity in looking to improve the quality of information recorded in our risk management system (iCARE).

Ensuring effective and embedded risk management is imperative at Aviva and as part of this role you will be responsible for encouraging an appropriate culture is in place to support and improve the risk and control environment. The role provides an opportunity to help upskill the Finance community in understanding what a good control environment looks like and to clarify the role that they have to play in this regard.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Actuarial skills are essential, including SII experience, implementation of SCR, production of best estimate liabilities, model review/ migration, analysis of change, review of assumptions and SII model validation experience
  • Non-Life background experience
  • Audit experience of GI companies is essential
  • Risk and Controls delivery experience, including SOX and internal risk and control management
  • Knowledge of risk and financial reporting controls specific to actuarial processes

What you’ll get for this role:

  • National starting salary circa £70,000, London starting salary circa £85,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
