Pricing Actuary (P&C)

The Americas actuarial team within Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is looking to hire an actuary who will lead the profitability review process for our global portfolio of P&C products. This role will have responsibility for the following activities:
- Maintaining and improving our profitability projection methodology (as well as underlying assumptions) used around the world
- Developing customized calculations to meet the needs of unique products
- Backtesting parameter selection and methodology to enhance predictiveness
- Creating predictive analytics to help actuaries and product owners advance business strategies
About the role
A successful candidate will have a strong technical background and enjoy the challenge of improving and optimizing models. They must be willing to work independently, exploring alternative methods on their own and incorporating innovative approaches. The individual also needs strong communication skills in order to gain support from global colleagues.
In addition to core responsibilities, the ideal candidate will provide leadership within the Americas actuarial team regarding the implementation of predictive analytics and statistical packages, such as R. They will also support various global cross-product projects as needed.
We are the actuarial team providing support to multiple Corporate Solutions businesses across North and Latin America. We support a variety of offerings including Property, Casualty, and Financial Products. Key responsibilities for our team include loss ratio projections, rating plan development, and parameter updates. We work closely with our business partners and encourage innovation that supports traditional methods. This role will report directly to the Head of Actuarial Portfolio Management for the Americas within Corporate Solutions.
About you
- ACAS credential from the Casualty Actuarial Society preferred
- Minimum three years of P&C actuarial experience required
- Strong work ethic, self-starter, and able to meet defined deliverable dates
- Willingness to think about actuarial problems in new ways
- Good communication skills and desire to work with actuaries as well as business leaders
- Experience with R and predictive analytics preferred
