Actuarial Consultant (Model Development)
We are seeking skilled and talented Actuarial Model developers to join our Cash Flow Modelling team in APAC. The incumbent would be working to shape the future of actuarial modelling using Aon's Tyche Life product suite for the Life (re)insurance industry. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Gurgaon office.
At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.
The focus of the day will be building and delivering cash flow models for life (re)insurers in APAC. This is very much a hands-on modelling role, and hence day-by-day activity will primarily be development of cash flow models in Tyche. Many implementations will involve the Tyche Model Generator (TMG) - the unique solution enabling Cash Flow models to be built exceptionally rapidly first in Excel with automated conversion to Tyche.
You will get involved in a wide range of projects including internal Library Code developments, pre-sales "Proof of Concepts" as well as client implementations. As a senior in the team, you will be given responsibility not just to code models directly but also to oversee more junior members of the team, providing leadership and/or mentoring to guide them as they develop their Tyche life skills within Aon.
Aon acquired the Tyche software suite in 2022 with a vision for Tyche to be at the heart of its new Strategy and Technology Group (STG). Aon believes Life (re)insurance actuarial technology is ready to be shaken up and through this role you will work with the Head of Life and the Sales teams to lead the change in APAC markets. In particular, you will engage with clients at the sharp end to see Aon's vision implemented. You will need to buy into this vision and be an advocate or evangelist within Aon and with our clients to see it implemented.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Expertise in actuarial models in an APAC market(s) - gained from 2 - 8 years as an actuarial model developer.
- Coding skills - typically evidenced through actuarial modelling in solutions such as Prophet, MoSes/RiskAgility FM, or in open source software such as Python.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated team player that works collaboratively.
- Strong communicator with the ability to adapt to suit different audiences, and good at building relationships.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure: proactive, shows resolve and adapts to evolving situations.
