Actuary (P&C Reinsurance)

If you want to experience how things are done in the Group Risk Management team at our headquarters in Hannover/Germany, join us on a permanent, full-time basis commencing at the earliest possible date as an actuary.

Your Tasks

  • Supporting our team in verifying the adequacy of reserves in property and casualty reinsurance
  • Refining methods and systems used to evaluate loss reserves
  • Contributing to the operation and development of the internal capital model used to determine reserve risks
  • Performing analyses for internal steering and monitoring processes, including value-based management and asset/liability management
  • Assisting with fulfilling supervisory requirements, especially with regard to the tasks of the actuarial function (Solvency II) for property and casualty reinsurance
  • Collaborating with our international locations over actuarial monitoring processes
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration with various departments
  • Dealing with inquiries from internal and external stakeholders

Your Profile

  • Degree in (business) mathematics, economics or other relevant academic disciplines with a quantitative orientation
  • Experience of working in actuarial departments at an insurer or reinsurer
  • Programming skills as well as proficiency in using databases
  • Knowledge of actuarial methods, especially in connection with reserving and the reserve risk
  • Completed training as a certified actuary (DAV) is an asset
  • Independent user skills in German (level B2) and proficient user skills in English (at least level C1)
