Actuarial Trainee

Salary up to £45,000

Are you looking to further your career as a fully sponsored Actuarial Trainee? We are currently seeking a part qualified Actuarial Trainee to be a part of our team, if you are currently studying towards the Faculty and Institute of Actuaries (IFoA) examinations and have relevant actuarial work experience, we would love to hear from you!

We have one of the largest networks of actuaries in the country so you will be in good hands from the beginning. Your line manager, buddy and your qualified mentor will all work with you and provide encouragement and support throughout your training. You will also have a supportive team around you and business-wide networking opportunities to help you succeed.

Our trainees rotate every 18 months to 2 years and your first placement will be in our Existing Customer Outcomes team or one of our Life Actuarial Reporting teams.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Demonstrate commitment to actuarial exam progress by studying towards the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) examinations with a minimum of 4 - 6 exams having already been successfully attained (not exemptions)
  • A good technical knowledge and understanding of actuarial principles, formulae and methodology
  • Highly numerate and analytical with a developed capability to interpret data and establish alternatives and solutions to complex problems.
  • A high degree of computer literacy and strong Excel skills
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to work with people effectively – along with the ability to work independently and to take ownership of tasks

What you’ll get for this role:

  • Salary up to £45,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
  • Bonus opportunity - 6% (A & B grade) 8% (C grade) 10% (D grade) 12% (E grade) 25% (F grade) of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
