Senior Actuarial Analyst
- $75-85K salary + bonus
- Hybrid working (3 days each week onsite)
SageSure is the largest independent residential property managing general underwriter in the United States. We are seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to join our growing Product Development and Research team.
This position provides an opportunity to take on a role in an entrepreneurial culture and gain a broad perspective across the insurance business.
As a member on the Product Development and Research team, you will be asked to assist in providing technical and analytical assessments of complex business issues related to the development of new property products and maintenance of existing ones. You will utilize actuarial techniques to assist in the development and maintenance of sophisticated pricing plans.
Location:
This position will be set up on a hybrid schedule (3 days/week onsite) from our office in Cheshire, Connecticut.
What you’d be doing:
- Assists the Product Development team in the evaluation of rate adequacy.
- Assists with statewide and territorial rate indications.
- Conducts renewal impact analyses.
- Manages interns as well as lead work streams and manage projects of moderate complexity.
- Completes support documentation for product filings with Departments of Insurance and assist with responses to rate related inquiries.
- Assists with research projects including developing predictive models and visualizing results to support business decisions.
- Performs competitive intelligence analysis.
- Mentors other actuarial team members.
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science or STEM-related field.
- Passing grades on a minimum of 3 CAS Exams.
- 2-4 years of experience.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving and reasoning skills.
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical resources.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong technical skills; proficiency in R and SQL.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Proven organizational and time-management skills; strong attention to detail.
- Intermediate problem-solving and decision-making skills; ability to think critically and strategically.
