Senior Pricing Actuary

You will be responsible for pricing Scor Global Life Australia and New Zealand's retail reinsurance propositions. With the effort of pricing team, you will deliver quality work to provide insights into client queries, present solutions to achieve clients' objectives, and perform portfolio performance analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Price reinsurance business for SCOR Australia and New Zealand treaties with focus on existing Retail business.
  • Perform regular portfolio performance review and analysis delivering actionable insights.
  • Preparation and finalisation of pricing reports for the Head of Pricing to review.
  • Manage delivery of SGLA’s client requirements on a continual basis, including providing insight into client queries and presenting solutions in achieving their objectives.
  • Ensure pricing basis and its implementation conforms with SCOR Global Life pricing guidelines and local Pricing Policy.
  • Maintain and enhance the existing pricing models.
  • Actively contribute in determining the strategy for the SGLA pricing function.
  • Deliver on specific ad hoc projects as determined by Head of Pricing.
  • Research
  • Proactively initiate and deliver research and analysis that supports and enhances the pricing guidelines as well as assistance with new product development.
  • Deep understanding of regulatory and economic environment affecting the Australian and New Zealand markets.
  • Relationships
  • Able to work closely within a small team and in particular maintain good relationships with the marketing team as well as regional and group pricing teams.
  • Work closely with Underwriting and Claims teams especially around product design.
  • Work closely with Valuation team in understanding financial results and drivers to deliver on SGLA strategy.
  • Able to maintain good relationships and communicate effectively with clients.
  • Able to engage with the Global Business Acceptance team and Appointed Actuary in obtaining relevant sign-offs.

Qualifications

  • Essential
  • Minimum 10 years of post-qualification working experience in an insurance/reinsurance business.
  • Related pricing experience in either group risk or individual risk pricing either for an insurer or reinsurer.
  • Desirable
  • Able to work in a small team environment.
  • Extensive Retail pricing experience including completing experience analysis, setting assumptions, product enhancements and profitability analysis.
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
  • Experience of Actuarial projection software (e.g. PROPHET).
