P&C Actuary - Application Development (80-100%)
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a technically strong individual with a reserving and modelling background combined with good interpersonal skills to join our P&C actuarial team in Risk Management. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the new P&C reserving platform developed in-house.
Your responsibilities will include coordinating change management activities with actuaries across the globe and across Business Units related to future features releases, maintaining the distribution algorithm logic, providing guidance to IT on actuarial specification, planning and providing relevant training activities to the user community on specific features or new releases, and supporting specific research & development activities around reserving (i.e. portfolio segmentation).
About the Team
Our small team supports the Reserving community globally across the various business units (Reinsurance, Corporate Solutions, iptiQ). You will report to the Head of P&C reserving System development and ensure successful implementation of new reserving method and application improvement.
About You
- You have at least 5 years experience in P&C reinsurance or insurance as an actuary or a risk modeler.
- You are a qualified or part-qualified actuary member of an actuarial body affiliated to the International Actuarial Association
- You have strong modelling experience and experienced with various computer programming languages such as R, Python, C++, Matlab, VBA
- You are analytical, of a curious nature with the ability to break down complexity into simple concept.
- You love learning and are able to use your experience and knowledge to find creative solutions where none currently exist. You are adaptable and open to change.
Depending on experience we might also consider candidates that are close to be qualified.
