Senior Actuarial Analyst
Position objectives and position summary
Perform quarterly valuation including P&L and Reserve movement explanation and explain to the respective team lead.
Working under multiple reporting regimes: USGAAP, statutory and market consistent valuation (EVM), as well as providing input into the internal risk model and solvency reporting (SST, SII)
Support the strategic priorities of the Business Management department
Main tasks/activities/responsibilities
To analyse valuation models used and make changes as required
Calculation of reserves under different reporting regimes such as USGAAP, Market Consistent and statutory
Perform reserve analyses, explanation, and commentary
Explain the contributors of P&L movement
Apply technical knowledge and process skills to tackle complex problems and develop appropriate solutions
Question existing processes and suggest improvements where relevant
Interaction with independent valuation result reviewers
Documentation of the assumptions, model output and quarterly results
About Team
This is one of the pioneer teams to gain an understanding of the global systems platform that Swiss Re has been targeting and get involved in end-to-end aspects of Swiss Re Continental Europe (CE) reporting. i.e. starting from data handling until explaining the movements in reporting figures. The role offers an opportunity to be a part of a diverse, inclusive atmosphere spread across different locations.
About You
Advanced actuarial student with good progress towards qualification
Around 3 years of experience in reinsurance, life or health insurance products
Experience with market consistent valuation and/or USGAAP an advantage
Ability to work and handle workloads independently
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Good business and financial competence
Work with a diverse team spread across various locations
Strong technical knowledge, proficiency in working with spreadsheet packages, knowledge of a modelling software preferred (MoSes, Axis, Prophet).
