Senior Actuarial Analyst

You will support the quarterly valuations processes, including preparing data, running actuarial models, consolidating and validating the output, reviewing the results to ensure accuracy and draw insights, communicating results to stakeholders, and completing the necessary documentation of these activities.
Your Tasks
- Assist with the Company’s quarterly actuarial valuations for UKGAAP, IFRS, HGB and Solvency II reporting bases, delivering high quality results to agreed timelines
- Prepare and run RAFM models and validate the output. Compare the reserves to the forecast and understand the reasons for variance. Communicate the drivers of financial results in written reports and other means for internal signoff, group reporting, regulators and other internal and external stakeholders
- Review the data used in the actuarial valuation work, including investigating the impact of movements in the data on the quarterly results
- Test and implement changes to the valuation systems, including RAFM models and reporting databases
- Work with colleagues in the Corporate Actuarial Analysis team to implement assumption changes into the valuation results
- On-board new business into the valuation process, test and implement updated assumptions and identify pragmatic solutions to evolving business conditions
- Help deliver specific projects related to actuarial valuation and complete ad-hoc requests in a timely manner

- Apply actuarial skills to prepare, produce, analyse and communicate information to allow the business to understanding the current and projected future financial performance of its business and any associated risks, or to help acquire new business
- Challenge, develop and improve both your own technical and business capabilities and the actuarial work for which you are responsible
- Act with integrity, diligence and professionalism, communicating openly and honestly with stakeholders
Your Profile
- University graduate
- Student member of the Institiute and Faculty of Actuaries or other actuarial professional body, making good progress through the actuarial exams
- Experience in an actuarial role, preferably valuation
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills required in particular MS Access & SQL exposure
- Familiarity with R or similar programming language
- Familiarity with Moses/RAFM or similar actuarial modelling software an advantage
