Pricing Actuary (Casualty & Financial Lines)

General Insurance is a leading provider of insurance products and services for commercial and personal insurance customers. It includes one of the world’s most far-reaching property casualty networks. General Insurance offers a broad range of products to customers through a diversified, multichannel distribution network.

About the role

Monitoring

  • Rate, rate adequacy and exposure monitoring
  • Profiles – deductibles, limits, line sizes, mix, etc.
  • Work closely with underwriting management to identify profitable new business and growth opportunities.

Rater/Pricing

  • Support underwriters to understand how their technical premium has been built up in the international raters
  • Work as part of the International team to calibrate and validate base rates and modifiers in the raters
  • Update LAC (Latin America & Caribbean) pricing models in the cases where regional rater is necessary
  • Produce pricing analysis for large accounts and schemes within agreed timescales, working closely with underwriters.

Others

  • Support requests for data as required for different regional/international/global initiatives

What we’re looking for:

  • Ability to communicate actuarial concepts to non-specialists.
  • Candidates with LT product experience strongly preferred
  • Proven proficiency in actuarial pricing concepts/methodologies
  • Actuarial degree
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • Expertise in Excel, VBA, SAS, R, Python or other programming languages.
  • Strong business and collaboration skills, and responsive to service needs and operational demands.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • English and Spanish speaker
