Actuarial Analyst
We are currently seeking an Actuarial Analyst to join our commercial lines reserving team. Aviva Plc and its subsidiaries operate within a closely monitored capital position and we need your skills and experience to help us to ensure that the reserve held are appropriate, as this is a key consideration for successfully managing the business.
This role could be ideal for you if you have relevant skills acquired through a STEM undergraduate degree and are keen to start or progress your actuarial career.
About the job:
As an actuarial analyst you will be responsible for carrying out regular reserve exercises to calculate and communicate the appropriate claim reserves for commercial lines. This will include manipulating data and producing reports on the historical reserves and expected future performance.
A key element of the role is to provide actuarial insight to Claims, Pricing, Underwriting and Finance stakeholders to ensure common understanding of claims trends.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
- Highly numerate and analytical with a developed capability to interpret data and establish alternatives and solutions to complex problems
- Develop/understand the needs of our end customers
- Eager to learn with an interest to develop actuarial skills and take the actuarial exams
What you’ll get for this role:
- Starting salary of circa £35,000 (National) and circa £45,000 (London based applicants) depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications
- Bonus opportunity - 8% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
