Senior Actuarial Analyst
Your role at a glance
We have a fantastic opportunity for a part-nearly qualified actuary to join the post-sale team of our market-leading Pension Risk Transfer business as a Senior Actuarial Analyst.
In this role you will focus on managing the arrangements agreed following a DB Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) deal. Which will involve maintaining ongoing relationships with numerous reinsurers, and potentially Trustee counterparts too.
You will also provide calculations relating to post-sale pricing, reinsurance, longevity insurance, and collateral arrangements.
This role would be ideal for someone with existing knowledge of Defined Benefit Pension Schemes and/or experience working at either a Pension Consultancy or another Life Insurer; however, we are open to candidates from other backgrounds as well.
This is a hybrid working opportunity, which means you can split your working week flexibly between your home and our London office in Moorgate to help achieve a work-life balance which suits you.
What you'll be doing
- Proactively supporting the Actuarial Manager in providing post-sale monitoring and calculations relating to buy-in/out pricing, reinsurance, longevity insurance and collateral arrangements.
- Helping to on-board new PRT reinsurance arrangements, including reviewing, and providing comments to draft contracts and models.
- Providing the highest level of support to internal and external clients including consultants, trustees, and reinsurers.
- Supporting and checking the work of the Operations Analyst in our Collateral and Reinsurance Services team.
- Providing actuarial support to projects relevant to the wider PRT new business team.
What we're looking for
- Part-nearly qualified actuary who is making good progress with the actuarial exams.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines to ensure project delivery.
- Knowledge of Defined Benefit Pension schemes, and associated valuation techniques e.g. triennial valuations (would be highly advantageous)
