Risk Modelling Actuary
The Risk Modelling team designs and develops the Internal Capital Model application and the core model for quantifying the joint risks and capital requirements arising for SCOR. These risks include Life & Health, Property & Casualty, Market and Credit but also other risks such as Operational or Tax risks. The model and its outputs are used by different internal stakeholders and for regulatory purposes such as Solvency II.
The successful candidate will be required to support the ongoing development and maintenance of this core model. The role will also involve working closely with other departments in SCOR’s Group Risk Management, Business Units and IT.
Responsibilities:
- Improve the general methodology of SCOR’s Internal Model with a focus on Life & Health risks and dependencies to other risks.
- Develop and maintain the Python based code to ensure accurate, reliable, and computationally efficient applications.
- Participate in ongoing cross functional projects and processes related to Risk Modelling and Risk Management, including the annual Life & Health calibration review cycle.
- Perform model change impact assessments, documentation, and governance in line with Group policies.
- Support the team with modelling expertise and solutions.
- Analyze and visualize the inputs and output of the Internal Capital Model.
- Collaborate closely with other risk modelers in the team (based in Dublin, Zurich and Cologne).
Qualifications:
- 1+ years’ experience in risk or financial or actuarial modelling
- Strong coding skills and willingness to improve. Ideally Python knowledge
- Knowledge of Economic valuation, Solvency II or IFRS17 desirable
- Good problem solving, analytical and numerical skills
- University degree in mathematics/physics, actuarial science, engineering, computer science or other discipline with a strong quantitative background
