Actuarial/Financial Analyst

As part of the newly created AFA team, the employee is expected to contribute and support on actuarial, financial, and business insights and expertise across Business Performance community and will participate to the challenge of building the set of analytics to support Business Performance needs.

A such, the role requires solid background in actuarial and finance domains as well as strong experience in insurance/reinsurance business.

Responsibilities

Under the management of the Head of Actuarial and Financial Analytics, the employee will contribute to and support the following activities:

  • Provide analysis to support the IFRS17 financial strategy and support activity to build the Strategic Plan
  • Provide insights and expertise on SCOR’s IFRS17 results across the strategic plan and for future quarterly process under IFRS17.
    • Support the wider Business Performance teams in analyzing performance under IFRS17, ensuring we can bridge to the financial strategy and manage communications in a consistent manner
    • Facilitate the coordination on transversal topics across Corporate Actuarial and the wider Business Performance team.
  • Support the development of internal and external communication strategy on key topics, liaising with the Investor Relations team.
  • Support on Performance Reviews by providing expertise and delivering actuarial and financial analysis on key topics.
  • Contribute financial analysis to support key Business Unit strategic deals or projects, providing insights on financial impacts across all bases and key metrics.

In the addition to supporting and contributing to the AFA mandate, the employee is expected to actively:

  • Establish strong relationships with BUS and market CFO in link with performed analyses on performance
  • Develop strong collaboration with the wider Business Performance team working in an agile and transversal mode to support Business Performance framework
  • Support the wider Corporate Actuarial team in building their IFRS17 expertise
  • Support the growth and development of the team notably by:
    • Creating opportunities for the team to expand their knowledge and expertise across both Life and P&C
    • Maximizing the use of technology and partner with other functions to achieve ambition related to transformation within Business Performance framework.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years as an actuary with P&C background (awareness of Life and Health topics being a plus) preferably in a (re)insurance entity or consulting firm; or as external auditor in the (re)insurance area.

  • Strong knowledge in IFRS 17. Solvency II regulatory environment knowledge is a plus.
  • Expertise in actuarial models (pricing, reserving, internal model, economic capital,…) or in financial analysis.
  • Ability to present results and analysis in a clear and concise way, verbally and in writing
  • Flexible, proactive, rigorous, the candidate shall have strong capabilities to adapt himself/herself to a challenging and demanding environment.
  • Expertise with IT tools and processes

Required Education

  • Actuarial and Financial background are required.
  • Degree in Actuarial Science or Master degree (or above) in Finance/Audit/Controlling from Business School with an actuarial background.
