Actuarial Intern

Insurers are looking closely at ways in which they can transform their business and operating models to remain competitive but compliant in a changing regulatory landscape. The KPMG Actuarial Services team has been steadily growing, and consists of three domains: Life Insurance, Non-life Insurance, and Employee Benefits.

You will be involved in/responsible for a wide variety of projects in mainly the Insurance sector. These assignments are varied and include IFRS 17, Solvency II (Pillar 1-2-3), financial reporting, pricing, actuarial function, valuation of insurance companies and portfolios, ALM, new product development, modeling of propensity to buy/churn, fraud detection, risk management, and strategic consulting.

Because of our customized services, the projects are often in collaboration with our insurance experts from other disciplines such as Business Services, Deal Advisory, Tax, Technology advisory.

You will be given the opportunity to work with not only local Belgian colleagues but also with KPMG experts from our global network. You will make use of our wide range of tools, for which you can take initiatives to further develop them. In addition, you will contribute to the further expansion of our actuarial services, and to the consolidation of our strong position in the insurance industry.

Skills & Qualifications

We are looking for students who have, or will soon hold, a university Master’s degree in Actuarial sciences. But, while we believe academic qualifications are an important pointer as to how you might succeed at our firm, these are far from being the only thing you'll be assessed on.

Besides a technically strong basis, we are looking for people who:

  • Communicate with impact (Dutch/French/English).
  • Will soon graduate and can start full-time mid-September 2023.
