Manager (Fiduciary Oversight)

Our Investment Advisory team offers full investment consulting services to trustees and sponsors of pension schemes across both defined benefit and defined contribution markets. Within this team, Isio has one of the longest track records of providing independent oversight and research of fiduciary managers in the UK. This role combines both a client-facing consultant role and specialist investment research role.

We are looking for an individual with a drive to work within our fiduciary oversight team. This would be complemented by a strong interpersonal and communication skills, alongside strong technical and analytical skills, supported by a commercial outlook.

Role Requirements

  • Taking the lead role in the provision of fiduciary investment advice to our clients. This includes monitoring fiduciary manager performance and actions, helping clients select and retender fiduciary managers, and conducting reviews of fiduciary manager funds & products.
  • Undertaking fiduciary manager and market research, including:
    • Overseeing/leading production of our annual Fiduciary Management Survey, due diligence meetings, fiduciary manager calls, and our fiduciary manager conferences.
    • Establishing a strong understanding of the different fiduciary managers and approaches (for example, asset classes, liability hedging, fund manager selection, and Environmental, Social, and Governance approaches).
  • Attending client meetings with other members of the team and delivering advice where appropriate.
  • Taking responsibility for drafting or reviewing reports and managing the work undertaken by members of the team.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for a range of trustee, corporate, and other institutional clients, as well as fiduciary managers.
  • Proactively supporting a wealth of new business activities including leading production of tender submissions and supporting pitches.
  • Contributing to a culture of innovation, commitment, and enthusiasm as part of a market leading team.

Experience and Competencies Required

  • Applicants are expected to be FIA/FFA or CFA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Enthusiastic and proactive.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills.
  • The ability to take on a high level of responsibility.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team.
  • Willingness to manage clients, build strong relationships and assist with new business opportunities.
  • Previous investment consulting experience, including leading on client delivery.
  • Advantageous to have worked at a fiduciary manager, or in a role that performs fiduciary manager oversight or research.
