Senior Consultant (DC Investment)
Within our Reward & Benefits business, our dedicated Defined Contribution investment specialism offers full investment consulting services to trustees, sponsors and governance committees of DC pension schemes. Our DC Investment team has grown significantly over the last few years and is a key growth area for Isio over the next few years due to the increasing demand for quality investment advice in the DC market.
We are looking for individuals with excellent investment consulting skills, strong DC pensions technical skills and market knowledge, a commercial outlook and an entrepreneurial mindset.
The role is likely to be split 50/50 between a traditional DC investment consulting role and then a combination of business development, provider and fund manager research and internal functions to suit candidates strengths and previous experience.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead DC investment consulting role on a wide range of DC clients including Master Trusts, clients investing in Master Trusts, own Trusts and GPPs
- Driving forward the strategic thinking for large and complex DC clients
- Responsible for designing and implementing innovative DC investment strategies for the modern world
- Being responsible for producing high quality deliverables that address key client issues, often on multiple concurrent projects
- Attending client meeting and lead delivery of advice
- Leading and supporting new business activities including oversight of tender submissions and pitches
- Prospecting new clients and maintaining a strong internal and external network
- Driving the thought leadership and strategic direction of our advice to clients and the overall direction of our DC investment business
- Leading the research of DC provider default strategies as well as individual DC funds for bespoke solutions
- Supporting the wider DC team in advising clients looking to change providers or DC vehicle
- Contributing and taking responsibility for the development of junior colleagues and sharing your knowledge across the wider team
- Regularly monitoring all aspects of risk and compliance.
Experience and Competencies Required:
- Applicants are expected to be FIA/FFA or CFA/CISI qualified (or equivalent)
- Extensive previous relevant DC investment experience and excellent understanding of the wider DC market
- Strong technical pensions and investment knowledge
- Proactive and commercial approach
- Excellent client relationship management and communication skills
- A proven track record in consulting with clients
- Ability to consistently manage multiple workstreams and prioritise tasks accordingly to deliver high quality client deliverables
- Consistently able to work at a high level of intensity whilst maintaining a professional and positive approach
- Ability to lead and coach teams and work closely with colleagues in multi-disciplinary client service teams to deliver projects effectively
- Ability to contribute and take responsibility for the development of junior colleagues
- Appetite to drive forward innovative thinking on strategic development
