LDI Specialist
We are looking for an individual with enthusiasm and interest in Liability Driven Investment (LDI) to join as a specialist within our Investment team. The role is focussed on helping pension schemes manage risk using LDI asset strategies. Depending on your interests and experience, the role has flexibility to split your time across LDI solution structuring and investment consulting.
Role and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate knowledge of UK pension scheme liabilities and appropriate ways to hedge the risks inherent in these types of liabilities using different hedging assets and instruments
- Design and critically evaluate different hedging solutions
- Work with investment managers to implement LDI solutions and changes to clients’ portfolios
- Oversee junior members of the team to help them deliver projects
Experience and Competencies Required
- Experience in designing and implementing liability hedging portfolios
- Strong technical LDI knowledge and modelling skills
- Working towards the Actuarial or CFA exams, or qualified
- 2-6 years of experience in financial services, ideally in an investment consultancy or fund management environment
- Commercial outlook and internal drive
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Ability to deliver multiple workstreams to tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills including strong presentation skills
- An understanding of the asset management industry
- Proactive approach
